3. Dérivée et variations

- Si \(a > 1\) : \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to -\infty} a^x = 0\) et \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to +\infty} a^x = +\infty\).
- Si \(0 < a < 1\) : \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to -\infty} a^x = +\infty\) et \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to +\infty} a^x = 0\).
III. Exercices corrigés
Exercice 1 : Équations exponentielles
Résoudre dans \(\mathbb{R}\) les équations suivantes :
- \(e^{2x} - 3e^x + 2 = 0\)
- \(e^{x-2} = 2\)
Solutions
1) \(e^{2x} - 3e^x + 2 = 0\)
On pose \(t = e^x > 0\). L'équation devient : \(t^2 - 3t + 2 = 0\).
\(\Delta = 9 - 8 = 1\), donc \(t = 1\) ou \(t = 2\).
\(e^x = 1 \iff x = 0\) et \(e^x = 2 \iff x = \ln 2\).
\(S = \{0, \ln 2\}\).
2) \(e^{x-2} = 2\)
\(e^{x-2} = 2 \iff x - 2 = \ln 2 \iff x = 2 + \ln 2\).
\(S = \{2 + \ln 2\}\).
Exercice 2 : Inéquations exponentielles
Résoudre dans \(\mathbb{R}\) les inéquations suivantes :
- \(e^{x^2 - x} > 1\)
- \(e^{3x+1} - 3e^{2x+1} + e^{x+1} < 0\)
Solutions
1) \(e^{x^2 - x} > 1\)
\(e^{x^2 - x} > 1 \iff e^{x^2 - x} > e^0 \iff x^2 - x > 0\) (car \(e^x\) est strictement croissante).
\(x^2 - x > 0 \iff x(x-1) > 0 \iff x < 0\) ou \(x > 1\).
\(S = ]-\infty; 0[ \cup ]1; +\infty[\).
2) \(e^{3x+1} - 3e^{2x+1} + e^{x+1} < 0\)
On factorise \(e^{x+1}\) (qui est \(> 0\)) :
\(e^{x+1}(e^{2x} - 3e^x + 1) < 0 \iff e^{2x} - 3e^x + 1 < 0\).
On pose \(t = e^x > 0\).
\(\dfrac{3 - \sqrt{5}}{2} < t < \dfrac{3 + \sqrt{5}}{2}\).
Donc \(\dfrac{3 - \sqrt{5}}{2} < e^x < \dfrac{3 + \sqrt{5}}{2}\).
\(\ln\left(\dfrac{3 - \sqrt{5}}{2}\right) < x < \ln\left(\dfrac{3 + \sqrt{5}}{2}\right)\).
\(S = \left]\ln\left(\frac{3 - \sqrt{5}}{2}\right); \ln\left(\frac{3 + \sqrt{5}}{2}\right)\right[\).
Exercice 3 : Calcul de limites
Calculer les limites suivantes :
- \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to +\infty} \frac{e^x}{x^2}\)
- \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to -\infty} x e^x\)
- \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to 0} \frac{e^x - 1}{x}\)
Solutions
1) \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to +\infty} \frac{e^x}{x^2}\)
On sait que \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to +\infty} \frac{e^x}{x} = +\infty\).
\(\dfrac{e^x}{x^2} = \dfrac{1}{x} \cdot \dfrac{e^x}{x}\).
Donc \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to +\infty} \frac{e^x}{x^2} = +\infty\).
2) \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to -\infty} x e^x\)
On sait que \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to -\infty} x e^x = 0\).
3) \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to 0} \frac{e^x - 1}{x}\)
C'est la limite fondamentale : \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to 0} \frac{e^x - 1}{x} = 1\).
Exercice 4 : Dérivées
Calculer la dérivée des fonctions suivantes :
- \(f(x) = e^{3x^2 - x}\)
- \(f(x) = e^{x \ln x}\)
Solutions
1) \(f(x) = e^{3x^2 - x}\)
\(f'(x) = (6x - 1)e^{3x^2 - x}\).
2) \(f(x) = e^{x \ln x}\)
Soit \(u(x) = x \ln x\). \(u'(x) = \ln x + 1\).
\(f'(x) = (\ln x + 1)e^{x \ln x}\).
Exercice 5 : Exponentielle de base \(a\)
Soit \(f(x) = 2^x\).
- Calculer \(f'(x)\).
- Déterminer les limites en \(+\infty\) et \(-\infty\).
Solutions
1) Dérivée : \(f'(x) = 2^x \ln 2\).
2) Limites :
\(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to +\infty} 2^x = +\infty\) et \(\displaystyle \lim_{x \to -\infty} 2^x = 0\).
